Hands free breast pumping necklace Pumpin' Pal

Hi all! We've been inactive for quite a long time and I have been procrastinating on blogging as I am renovating my house and etc. However, a friend of a friend of mine sent me an email a few days ago, and he is the distributor of Pumpin' Pal in Indonesia (www.facebook.com/Nyamibu). He asked for my feedback on Pumpin' Pal (www.pumpinpal.com/html/hands-free_breast_pumping_strap.htm) and turned out I'm already a big fan since last year while I was breastfeeding or should I say breast pumping. This thing is like a godsend for me.

As you all mothers or mothers to be who are breastfeeding or plan to will see, everywhere on the market nowadays are mostly dual breast pumps. Double breast pumps are said to be better than your normal one pump as you can produce more milk with pumping both your milk at the same time and of course faster, less time spent on pumping.

So while I was breastfeeding, I really dreaded staring off into space and just holding on to my pumps, especially in the middle of the night. Pure torture for me. I am a multitasking kind of person and I am bored easily. I bet even if you are not, you do not enjoy just pumping and doing nothing. Okay you may say you can watch TV and pump but what if you want to change the channel or you need to text? So many other possibilities that you have or want to do while pumping and you do not have your hands free is very frustrating.

Before I got this Pumpin' Pal, I saw this bra that you can wear and insert the flange into the bra but I thought that it won't do me any good, too troublesome. You have to take off your bra and wear that special bra... bottomline, complicated.

Too troublesome for me

Luckily while I was browsing www.asibayi.com, I stumbled upon Pumpin' Pal and gave it a try. It's really a simple device and really helped. I always used it as I got to pump and play with my handphone or iPad or crochet or whatever you want to do with your free hands.

In conclusion, I have been telling all my pumping friends to get this thing and those of you who are breastfeeding should get this too. Easy to use, hassle free and awesome. Below is the instructional video on how to use it.

Then my friend told me about this Pumpin' Pal Super Shields Plus which are basically an angled breast pump flanges that you either insert into your existing flanges or directly to the pump, depending on which pump brand you use. She told me with that, she can lean back, pump and relax. As a result, no back pains. Therefore I bought it from an online store in Singapore which I can't remember the name, as www.asibayi.com were out of stock or did not sell last time.

I gotta be honest with you guys and say that I personally prefer not to use the Super Shields as my milk flow is slower with it and as a result gets less milk. My milk likes it better if I'm tortured and sit straight up rather than leaning. Oh and if you use this Super Shield, make sure that before you take them off, your breast milk has all gone down to the bottle, because of your leaning posture, there will be milk on the flange and it may spill when you take them off if you are not careful. Anyway, the slower output topic is in the frequently-asked-questions section of the manufacturer's website at www.pumpinpal.com/html/FAQ.htm#Q3-5 - worth trying the suggested solution if you want the lean-back benefit.

With that being said, Super Shields are useful or not depends on the person using it. It comes in M, L & XL sizes and bear in mind that the Super Shields may not fit with certain brands of pumps so check Pumpin' Pal's websites before getting it (www.pumpinpal.com). According to the local distributor, most Pumpin' Pal users in our country are using Medela and, some, Avent. I was using Ameda at that time and it fits too.

If you wish to contact the distributor of Pumpin' Pal products for Indonesia, who retails them too, private-message them at www.facebook.com/Nyamibu (for emails, their address is customercare.nyamibu@gmail.com)
