I watched this last night and let me tell you, it is a must see movie of the year and for me it is better than Frozen. You definitely need to "Let It Go" because 1. it is not animated and 2. the main characters are real people instead of some cartoons. But, i still like the Frozen soundtrack better than Maleficent's ones.
Well, enough of the comparison, let's get to the juicy parts. Should you bring your children to watch? Is it children rating friendly? Is it bearable for adults, especially men to watch it and not falling asleep during it? Well, i honestly don't know about your standard. But, what i can tell you is that the movie is definitely not for babies, but i saw 2 babies were brought to watch the movie. Luckily, they made no noise at all during the play. What were the parents thinking actually?
Bringing children? Oh, yes... Especially girls, you need to bring them immediately and they will keep telling you, that is not how princess Aurora story is. Yes, they've been brainwashed and they refuse to change their perception. It's like when you are told that a chair is actually a table and you've been duped all this time to call that a chair, when it's actually a table. Funnily enough, lots of people in this world are easily brainwashed by some beliefs, so it's not only children, but adults too. Continuing on to the movie, it has 3 kissing parts, well if you count: 1. The couple kiss in the dark and all we can see is their silhouettes, 2. A real kiss, but not a passionate one, just hi-5 between lips, 3. A kiss on the cheek.
Now, when it comes to men, it's hard to predict what types of men you have or you are, caused if you are like an action core die hard movie, then this might be too soft for you to watch. It has lots of fighting honestly and some bloods too, but not so much that it scares your children to nightmare. Heck, i saw lots of men watched this movie too and next to me was actually a man and he laughed together with me during funny moments. He was a stranger by the way, so he didn't have to laugh to please me.
After watching this movie, i learned some wisdoms that there is always another side to a story. It is like a coin, it has 2 sides to it. It depends on which side that is facing you. Similarly to this Maleficent story, it was told from her side and the other side of the story was the one that we were familiar with, and was told I assumed from Princess Aurora's father point of view. Similar event, but told differently with some twists from each side. I experienced the same when i was told by my ex-couple friends why they were divorced. Both of them were hurt, but both of them told me different stories and each was from their point of view. If you shall need another example to this analysis, please watch Emergency couple on www.gooddrama.net - a korean drama tv shows. You will get what i meant.
In conclusion, it is a beautiful movie to watch, some parts feels like you are watching 3D movie and most importantly, Angelina Jolie looks so gorgeous although she is trying so hard to look scary. We've seen mermaid and we all agree that humans can look pretty having tail, but never cross my mind that a human can also looks so dashing with wings, except for angels of course. Uh, now i wish i can fly..... (If only they make Seal, I believe I can fly as the movie soundtrack)
Cheers to wings... And happy viewing.
Ok I'm gonna watch it today! maybe the guy next to you IS trying to please you HAHA
